How to choose a supplier for foldable labels? Only clients who have suffered losses or been cheated have the most say. Let me tell you a real case.
I visited Mr. Zhong today. His company currently has a large demand for foldable labels. When they first asked for samples, our company quoted a 7-day delivery time, while another supplier said 3 days, so they didn't give us the first sample order.
That other supplier did deliver the sample in 3 days, but Mr. Zhong's foldable labels are quite special and have certain requirements for material selection. Only those who have sufficient understanding of the usage environment of self-adhesive labels and the selected materials can know which issues to confirm with the client, clarify the details, and finally choose the most suitable material.
However, the supplier that quickly provided the first foldable label sample only made it according to Mr. Zhong's requirements. Later, Mr. Zhong's company was dissatisfied with the sample because this type of foldable label was different from previous ones. Previously, foldable labels were all backed with a layer of transparent film, but Mr. Zhong's company didn't want that; they wanted it directly combined with release paper. The first supplier did provide such a version, but no matter how they did it, the foldable label couldn't stick firmly to the release paper.
The first supplier couldn't solve this problem. By then, they had gone back and forth making samples several times, which wasted a lot of time, and Mr. Zhong's client couldn't wait any longer. So Mr. Zhong came to me again, asking if we could solve the issue of the foldable label not sticking to the release paper.
This kind of problem wasn't a big deal for our company. We proposed several solutions and provided physical samples. Mr. Zhong's client was very satisfied, so they quickly confirmed our sample with a signature, and naturally placed the trial production order with us.
This brings me to an industry chaos: many companies producing foldable labels are non-professional factories. Once clients report problems during use, these non-professional factories can't provide solutions. However, their prices are lower than ours, making clients think they've found a cheaper supplier. In the end, when they can't solve the problem, they simply say they can't do it.
As Mr. Zhong sighed today, "If I had known how professional you are, I would have given you the first sample order. I really regret my wrong decision earlier; it wasted a lot of our company's time. The product that should have been mass-produced long ago is still in trial production."
