A client we terminated cooperation with due to payment issues has taken the initiative to negotiate with us again.
Ms. Li started cooperating with us at the beginning of this year. When she first approached us to order foldable instruction labels, she mentioned that their existing supplier had left them in an extremely passive position. They had been合作 for a year, and though they reordered foldable instruction labels every month, problems of varying kinds arose each time. Worse still, the supplier was unresponsive in handling these issues. Frustrated, they were determined to find a reliable source manufacturer with stable quality for foldable instruction labels.
For us, Jinxin Packaging, meeting her demands for quality and after-sales service was not difficult. However, our core requirement was timely payment. At the start of our cooperation, they trialed two small orders, both of which had no quality issues. As cooperation deepened, the order amount grew from a few thousand yuan to tens of thousands, and payments were made as per our company’s requirements.
But a few months later, their payments became delayed. We had to follow up repeatedly each time, and what was most unacceptable was their constant excuse: they were waiting for their own clients to pay them first.
Their reasoning sounded plausible, but from our perspective, it held no water. We were cooperating with Ms. Li’s company and should abide by the terms agreed upon initially, not wait for their clients to pay them before settling with us. Thus, we took the initiative to notify them of the termination of our cooperation.
There are not many source printing manufacturers that can produce both multi-layer self-adhesive labels and instruction labels, let alone tearable booklet labels. Even fewer can excel at both multi-layer self-adhesive labels and booklet labels.
The instruction booklet label industry is a mixed bag. The most common feedback I’ve heard from clients is about subpar quality, endless delays in delivery, and unresolved issues—some manufacturers even don’t know how to solve problems at all. These issues often leave clients lying awake at night.
Ms. Li had experienced all these problems, so when she found us, it was like finding a savior. Though broadly in the same industry, our target client groups and practical experience differ, making our company like their technical consultant. Whenever they encountered unsolvable problems, they would call us for help.
That’s why they were anxious when we notified them of the cooperation termination due to payment issues. After internal discussions, they took the initiative to communicate with us, promising to settle payments by the 15th of each month and hoping to continue our cooperation.
