Winning Customers with Integrity, Not Poaching Business Cross the Line
It takes a process for new customers to go from distrust and misunderstanding to fully accepting our company's payment terms.
I usually let customers compare with our peers. Those who have checked with our peers are willing to come back to cooperate with us.
In June, there was a customer, Mr. Li, who needed folding instruction labels. After talking on the phone, I told him there was a supplier nearby, suggesting he choose it for easier communication and delivery.
But Mr. Li said he knew that supplier and had unpleasant experiences with them.
Mr. Li himself is in the printing industry but doesn't make such small products as folding instruction labels. It's because the process is complex, involving many things and requiring good knowledge of various materials and back贴物. Folding instruction labels are made of multiple materials, which really tests a factory's technology.
Mr. Li said he wanted to find a new source manufacturer for folding labels because his current label printer produced products with quality issues. Out of mutual trust, he let the manufacturer handle the problem at his client's factory. However, the manufacturer added his client's WeChat and asked them to bypass Mr. Li for cooperation.
Mr. Li was angry when talking about this. He said if the manufacturer really wanted to cooperate with his client, they shouldn't compete maliciously on price. But that manufacturer even cut the price by 5 percentage points. I really felt it wasn't worth it for Mr. Li.
In fact, many customers like Mr. Li cooperate with us, Jinxin Packaging. They often ask us to arrange logistics for delivery, but we never thought of poaching their clients.
Especially for new customers, I'll tell them in advance: if they need us to arrange delivery, they should fill in the logistics information themselves. If they ask us to do it, they can rest assured that we'll never bypass any customer to poach their clients through logistics information. Doing business requires integrity. The market is big enough; there's no need to snatch customers from them.
Besides, as long as payments are fine, it's the same to us who the products are sold to. Why fix eyes on one client? Our consistent philosophy is to build a good reputation in the industry, control product quality, provide good pre-sales and after-sales services, do business with sincerity, and let more customers be willing and confident to cooperate with us.
In reality, many people may have similar experiences to Mr. Li: their cooperative factories poach their clients, or the folding labels have quality issues, and the factories delay solving them, leaving customers in a passive position.
Jinxin Packaging specializes in folding instruction labels and multi-layer self-adhesive labels. If you have the same experience as Mr. Li, you can try a small order with us. You won't go bankrupt, and I won't get rich!
